Moneto finally delivers cross-platform mobile payments courtesy of MasterCard's PayPass tech

DeviceFidelity and SpringCard have teamed up to launch Moneto, a mobile payment system that finally spans the rift between iPhone and Android users. The heart of the system is an NFC-enabled microSD card that works with MasterCard's PayPass Tap-and-Go system. Just install the Moneto app on your device and you can start using a refillable, prepaid MasterCard to start making purchases at retailers across the country. To get around the lack of a microSD card slot on an iPhone Moneto also offer a special case that you can stick the NFC chip in. You can order the Moneto for iPhone now for $80, including $10 of MasterCard credit. Android support will land in Q2 of this year. Check out the PR after the break.
